Tips for bringing your dog on a camping adventure

Camping with your four-legged best friend can be a rewarding experience. However, camping with a pet is different from going on a standard camping trip alone. If you are bringing your dog along for an adventure make sure to pack plenty of water and food, have fun games that they can play while hanging out at camp, and try to get them into the mindset that this will just be another weekend away from home.

The post goes on to describe how exactly to take care of these needs as well as other helpful tips for bringing your pup along for the ride!

  1. Bring plenty of food and water for your dog
  2. Find a comfortable place in the shade or under an umbrella
  3. Bring their favorite toy to keep them occupied while you cook dinner
  4. Be sure they have enough space to run around - preferably near the campfire so they can get warm
  5. If it's cold, bring extra clothes for your pup! They're not nearly as good at regulating their body temperature as humans are
  6. Always be aware of how much time is left before sunset - if it gets too dark, you should head back to camp immediately because dogs are nocturnal animals and will become scared when suddenly plunged into darkness

Bringing your dog on a camping adventure is one of the best ways to make sure they have a good time and get plenty of exercises, but it can be difficult to know what you need for them. That’s why we put together this dog camping checklist for bringing your pup with you into the wilderness!
